To me, this song just takes you back to an era that many of us wish we could re-live just one more time. At least one more time! It was fun, cool calm, and fresh! Not all crazy and busy like today. I guess it was crazy in its own way. If they only had youtube and internet back then maaann.....
I remember having a mix tape with this one - Captain Rock's Cosmic Blast. I used to record it late-night between 1 and 4 am.
I would buy those 120 minute Memorex tapes, stay up as long as I could and around 2am recording, then put in my 120 tape, hit record for two more hours. Yeah baby, I had one of them auto-reverse things on my box 2 hours of music not just one!
Radio stations only played this stuff late Friday or Saturday nite, The next morning I would wake up and be all excited, listening to what I got on that tape - like it was a box of candy man.
I had the latest, greatest and baddest jams to share with and compare with my friends who also had mix tapes from the radio and places like Chicago and NYC.
Captain Rock's Cosmic Blast was one of those songs I got and it was - and still is - sooooo FRESH! Enjoy Ya'll - and it epitomizes an era like none other!!! Who's wit me on that one?
